strength

I got to run with Daddy today as he and I both had a break in the middle of the day from work. It was such a treat to run together and have that time to catch up.  As I was telling him about some of my runs lately, I realized that I am almost half way through my training plan.  I have been so thankful for the way I have felt my body getting stronger through this.  While 9 weeks ago, 17 miles felt daunting, now I am adjusting to the longer distances.

I think about the strength God has given you-- strength as a dancer whose feet now can be in pointe shoes for an extended period of time, strength as a unicyclist who can go up that giant hill heading to Laurelhurst, strength to persevere and press on in your school work, strength to keep practicing your flute, strength to get up really early for school even when your body wants desperately to stay in bed...

You are a girl with much strength and grit, and I feel like I have been able to see before my eyes how God is helping your emotional, physical and spiritual muscles get stronger this year as you have been seeking out deeper friendships and asking questions about faith.  May you continue to know that He is your strength and He is with you...

Isaiah 40:28-31  Have you not known? Have you not heard? The LORD is the everlasting God,   the Creator of the ends of the earth. He does not faint or grow weary; his understanding is unsearchable. He gives power to the faint,   and to him who has no might he increases strength. Even youths shall faint and be weary, and young men shall fall exhausted; but they who wait for the LORD shall renew their strength;   they shall mount up with wings like eagles; they shall run and not be weary;   they shall walk and not faint.

Isaiah 41:10  fear not, for I am with you;  be not dismayed, for I am your God; I will strengthen you, I will help you,  I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.

1 Chronicles 16:11  Seek the LORD and his strength;  seek his presence continually!

Exodus 15:2 The LORD is my strength and my song, and he has become my salvation; this is my God, and I will praise him, my father’s God, and I will exalt him.

Philippians 4:13  I can do all things through him who strengthens me.
